Rosatom took part in the International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM.
India, held in New Delhi from September 9 to 11, 2026. During an official
tour of the exhibition, Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the
Russian Federation, and Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the
Republic of India, reviewed the key achievements of long-standing Russia–India
cooperation in nuclear and related technologies. The achievements were
presented by Kirill Komarov, First Deputy Director General – Director for
Development and International Business of Rosatom.
The ministers were introduced to the VVER-1200, Russia’s most advanced and
efficient reactor design, through a scale model of the Novovoronezh Nuclear
Power Plant displayed at Rosatom’s stand. In the area dedicated to solutions
supporting technological sovereignty, Kirill Komarov outlined prospects for
expanding cooperation in additive technologies, composite materials, digital
solutions and logistics.
“India is steadily developing its nuclear power sector and has set an ambitious goal of increasing its nuclear capacity to 100 GW by 2047. Rosatom is already making a practical contribution to achieving this goal: we are the only foreign company constructing a nuclear power plant in India. Two units of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant are operating reliably, while four more are at various stages of implementation. Given the scale of India’s ambitions, we are ready to offer our partners a broad range of advanced nuclear solutions, from large-capacity power units to small modular reactors. At the same time, our partnership extends far beyond nuclear power and encompasses nuclear medicine, additive technologies, composite materials and logistics. I am confident that Russian technologies will contribute to strengthening India’s technological sovereignty”, said Kirill Komarov.
Kirill Komarov also participated in the forum’s business program, speaking
at the INNOPROM.India Main Plenary Session, “Enhancing Russian-Indian Trade
and Industrial Partnership: Towards Greater Self-Reliance,” and at the
session “India–Russia Business Cooperation: Driving Strategic Partnerships
and New Opportunities.”
During the Russia–India business dialogue, Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of India, emphasized the need to move from agreements to practical industrial cooperation and called on Russian companies to develop manufacturing operations in India, drawing on the country’s industrial potential, skilled workforce and the opportunities provided by the “Make in India” initiative.

Representatives of Rosatom’s industry integrator for Additive Technologies took part in the session “Additive Manufacturing:
A New Dimension of Russia–India Partnership”. Participants discussed
the possibility of moving towards the joint creation of an additive technology
ecosystem. Rosatom representatives explained how additive technologies can
reduce equipment costs for end users by 40 percent, presented practical examples
of equipment localization and shared the initial results of similar projects
implemented at an Indian partner’s manufacturing site. They also shared
experience in jointly establishing the full value chain, from the supply of
equipment and the turnkey establishment of Additive Technology Centers to
technology transfer and equipment localization.
Rosatom Metal Tech LLC, an enterprise of Rosatom’s Fuel Division, held the
session “Critical Minerals and Materials: New Opportunities for Industrial
Cooperation”. Participants discussed industrial cooperation in the
production of rare-earth magnets, the development of consolidated demand for
rare-earth products, government support measures and ways to attract investment
for new production capacities.
At the session “India–Russia Collaboration on Steel Value Chain”,
Rosatom’s metallurgy specialists presented four product areas with potential
for cooperation with Indian partners: titanium, zirconium, hafnium and calcium.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, JET Engineering and Technology Center,
part of Rosatom Service JSC and Rosatom’s Electric Power Division, signed a
distribution agreement with the Indian company Syngient Technologies covering
the Repeat Vision software platform, a next-generation platform for end-to-end
design and modelling of complex industrial systems. A memorandum of understanding
was also signed with the Indian company EM Services. The document provides for
mutually beneficial cooperation in the energy sector, including the
digitalization of power plants and the maintenance, refurbishment and
modernization of energy facilities.
Giredmet Institute, part of Rosatom’s Chemical Technology Cluster, signed a contract with India’s Alt Metals
to establish a pilot production facility for titanium sponge.
Rosatom’s stand also featured, among other solutions, glass- and carbon-fiber-based solutions for compressed natural gas storage and transportation systems, a portable laser metrology solution and an interactive energy simulator. Particular attention was given to achievements in industrial 3D printing and production localization. The stand featured the first localized 3D scanner of Russian design, manufactured at the facility of an Indian partner. Localization of Russian 3D scanner production in India began this year, reducing equipment costs for customers in the domestic market by 40 percent and securing “Make in India” status for the product.

industrial technologies, opening up new opportunities for businesses in India,
one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing economies.
The construction of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant is the cornerstone
project of Russia–India cooperation in the nuclear sector. The project is being
implemented under the Intergovernmental Agreement on Cooperation in the
Construction of a Nuclear Power Plant in India, signed on November 20, 1988,
and the Supplement thereto of June 21, 1998.
Units 1 and 2 of Kudankulam NPP were connected to India’s national grid in
2013 and 2016, respectively. They are the most powerful nuclear power units in
India. As of April 2026, the two units had generated more than 132 billion kWh
of electricity.
Units 3 and 4, as well as Units 5 and 6, constitute the second and third
phases of the Kudankulam NPP project and are equipped with VVER-1000 reactors.
Once all six units are commissioned, Kudankulam NPP will meet a significant
share of electricity demand in Tamil Nadu, home to nearly 85 million people, as
well as in other states to which the generated electricity will be supplied.
Six VVER-1200 power units are currently in operation worldwide: four in
Russia and two in Belarus. VVER-1200 units are under construction in
Bangladesh, Hungary, Egypt, China and Türkiye. Kazakhstan has also selected
this reactor design for its nuclear power program.
Russia has offered India the opportunity to continue nuclear cooperation by
constructing a new nuclear power plant in the country using VVER-1200 reactors.
In April 2026, Rosatom’s Fuel Division, which includes the Additive
Technologies business unit, delivered a RusBeam 2800 industrial 3D printer to
India. The contract was awarded following Rosatom’s success in an international
tender and marked the first delivery of a Rosatom-manufactured 3D printer to a
non-CIS country.
Large-size parts printed using the system will accelerate prototype development and the production of structures for the future Gaganyaan spacecraft, the Bharati Antariksh Station and Chandrayaan missions. The Indian customer’s choice of Rosatom technologies confirms the strong competitiveness of Russian solutions in the global market and their compliance with the most stringent international standards.
