On March 11–13, Moscow is the
venue of the 32nd International Exhibition of Tourism and Hospitality Industry
featuring representatives of ROSATOM State Corporation and other participants
of the medical and rehabilitation market. The future of medical tourism in
Russia is a central theme within the event's business agenda. The consensus
among specialists is that the industry's expansion up to 2030 will be fueled by
digital transformation and the rise of of new regional clusters.
Evgeny Abakumov, Director of Information and Digital Technologies at Rosatom and member of the Board of Directors of Medscan Group, has presented a platform model of health management at the panel discussion. According to him, this innovation consolidates clinics, laboratories and telemedicine facilitating a fluid and integrated patient experience: from primary diagnostics to rehabilitation.
“The commercial medical market in Russia today is highly fragmented, as most players do not have a unified information space. The objective is to create a mechanism that allows patient data to travel with them, avoiding information gaps when changing clinics. The platform is designed to help link diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation into a single route, with the patients themselves controlling who uses their data and how. Rosatom's infrastructure makes it possible to scale this model: international partners are also interested in this format of networking," said Evgeny Abakumov.
To foster the advancement of medical tourism, Evgeny Abakumov points to the importance of attracting a wide array of participants to the platform. Cross-sector partnerships and digital ecosystems will improve the competitiveness of Russian medicine at the global level, and will create new standards of service for those traveling for treatment.
