Rosatom Renewable Energy, JSC (a company of Rosatom State Corporation) supplied the first wind turbine components (hubs, nacelles, generators and towers) to build a wind park in Kök-Moynok, Balykchy town, Ysyk-Köl region, Kyrgyz Republic. This was announced at the VII Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum, which is taking place fr om August 13-15
in the Issyk-Kul region.

The wind farm installed capacity will be 100 MW. In the Kyrgyz Republic, the project is implemented by NovaWind Kyrgyzstan, LLC, a legal entity registered in the country and established specially for renewable energy construction projects in the region (belongs to Rosatom’s Wind Energy Division). The beginning of design works with subsequent construction of the wind farm is scheduled for 2025-2026.

"The Kyrgyz Republic is among the countries with the greatest renewable energy potential. The wind power plant to be built will make it possible to utilize wind energy for the benefit of our people. Rosatom's project is moving forward to the implementation stage and we provide full support to our partners," emphasized Taalaibek Ibraev, Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

"The project to build our first wind farm abroad is progressing to a new stage. Component delivery is an important step on this way. We stick to the schedule set within the framework of the concluded investment agreement and expect to pour the first concrete foundation for the wind power plant already next year. The project team has all the necessary competencies for building and operating wind farms. The total capacity of wind energy projects completed by Rosatom in Russia is over 1 GW and we are ready to utilize our accumulated experience in the countries friendly to us," noted Grigory Nazarov, General Director of Rosatom Renewable Energy, JSC.

The central part of Rosatom's exhibition stand at the forum is dedicated to the company's solutions in the field of wind and nuclear energy, as well as solutions in the field of nuclear medicine.

The Rosatom’s Wind Energy Division (managed by Rosatom Renewable Energy, JSC) acts as an integrator of projects in the wind power industry, effectively solving the entire range of tasks, from the design of wind farms (WF) to their service maintenance. In Volgodonsk, the Atommash plant organized the production of hubs, nacelles, generators and cooling systems for 2.5 MW wind turbines. The equipment is 68% Russian. In the near future, it is planned to increase this figure to 80-85%. Currently, over 1035 MW of wind power capacity have been successfully commissioned, namely nine wind farms in southern Russia. In total, Rosatom plans to commission wind power plants with a total capacity of over 2 GW by 2028 (taking into account already commissioned capacities), which will enablethe division to become one of the leaders in the Russian RES market. rosatom-renewables.ru. In the Kyrgyz Republic, the project is implemented by NovaWind Kyrgyzstan, LLC, a legal entity registered in the country and established specially for renewable energy construction projects in the region (belongs to Rosatom’s Wind Energy Division).

In January 2022, Rosatom and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic signedthe Memorandum of Cooperation on the construction of small nuclear power plants based on the RITM-200N reactor unit. Also envisaged is the collaboration to improvethe qualifications of scientific and technical staff. Rosatom takes an active partin implementing the project to build small hydropower plants in the Batken, Talas,Jalal-Abad and other regions of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In 2023, a power purchase agreement was concluded regarding renewable energy facilities with a total capacity of 100 MW in the vicinity of Lake Ysyk-Köl in the Kyrgyz Republic,as well as a provisional power purchase agreement for renewable energy generatedby facilities with a total capacity of 100 MW in other regions of the Republic. March 2024 saw the signing of an agreement on developing and implementing an investment projectto build up to 1GW renewable energy facilities between Rosatom Renewable Energy and the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic. The subject of the agreement is developing and implementing an investment project to build up to 1 GW renewable energy facilitiesin the Kyrgyz Republic.

Since 2023, cooperation has been underway in the field of non-power nuclear applications in healthcare. In particular, it involves establishing a nuclear pharmacy and a molecular visualization center at the National Center for Oncology and Hematology (NCOH) wh ere advanced methods for diagnosing and treating cancerous and other diseases will be applied.
