Rosatom is a full-cycle project developer in foreign markets of onshore
wind power generation: from selecting sites and conducting wind measurements to
manufacturing the components, building and subsequently operating the wind
farms.
Project milestones:
In 2023, a power purchase agreement was concluded regarding renewable
energy facilities with a total capacity of 100 MW in the vicinity of Lake
Ysyk-Köl in the Kyrgyz Republic.
March 2024 saw the signing of an agreement on developing and implementing
an investment project to build up to 1GW renewable energy facilities between
Rosatom Renewable Energy and the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Also since March 2024, mind measurements have been conducted in the vicinity of
Lake Ysyk-Köl. The beginning of design works with subsequent construction of a
wind farm is scheduled for 2025.
In September 2024 near the village of Kök-Moynok-1, Balykchy town, Ysyk-Köl
region, Kyrgyz Republic, an official ceremony was held to lay a symbolic
capsule for the construction of Rosatom's first abroad wind farm.
In December 2024, an investment agreement was concluded providing for
cooperation in the wind energy sector. The agreement envisages the
implementation of an investment project to buildand
operate a wind power plant with an installed capacity of 100 MW in Kök-Moynok,
Balykchy town, Ysyk-Köl region, Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the sale of
generated power.
On May 30, NovaWind Kyrgyzstan, LLC (a subsidiary of
Rosatom Renewable Energy) and the Green Energy Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic
entered into a 25-year land rental agreementfor Project construction.
The wind farm is part of Rosatom's comprehensive energy offer quickly
tackling power shortages. By now, Rosatom Renewable Energy, JSC has supplied
the first wind turbine componentsmade at its own production facilities and at partner
plants to build the future wind farm.
The ongoing efforts are in keeping with the investment agreement concluded with the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic in late 2024.It is planned to obtain permits shortlyand move on to the project design and construction stage.
