Localization of production of Rosatom’s lithium-ion batteries in the Kyrgyz Republic

On 25 September 2025, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Rosatom’s Fuel Division, Energy Solutions Kyrgyzstan LLC (a company of Rosatom operating in the country), and Elbrus Construction Company LLC signed an agreement at the World Atomic Week (WAW — 2025) international forum in Moscow on cooperating in the production of lithium-ion batteries and energy storage systems.

The signing of the agreement marks the beginning of collaboration between the partners to implement high-potential energy projects and launch high-tech manufacturing in the Kyrgyz Republic. The agreement envisages a research of the market in lithium-ion batteries and energy storage systems in the Kyrgyz Republic, an evaluation of the feasibility of localizing their production, and the identification of promising projects for the introduction of energy storage systems.

“As a manufacturer of lithium-ion cells and energy storage systems, our company is interested in exploring new markets and establishing partnerships with international companies. We see great potential in Kyrgyzstan and believe that our collaboration can contribute to the technological advancement of the country and ensure that the Republic is provided with reliable and ecofriendly energy solutions,” said Anastasia Mikhailova, Director of the Energy Storage Systems business unit at Rosatom's Fuel Division.
