From July 17-18, the national stage of the international engineering
hackathon Global HackAtom took place in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The
competition brings together young nuclear industry professionals from various
countries. Rosatom’s representative and experts from TPU attended the event
held at the Polytechnic Institute of Nuclear Technology under the auspices of
the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) with support of the Russian
House. The championship aims to promote engineering careers and opportunities
for young people to pursue Russian nuclear education.
During the award ceremony, Anna Belokoneva, a member of the jury and the director of Rosatom's country office in Indonesia, addressed the participants and said: “Today, we were part of a creative exchange of ideas about how to use nuclear technologies in various industries to improve the quality of life. I am sure that many of the solutions presented by the student teams today will be put into practice in the future and will benefit Indonesia and the whole global community."

Verkhoturova, Advisor to the Rector of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) on
foreign relations, stated in her address: “This is the first hackathon in
Indonesia, which received over 30
applications from universities. Experts from our national partner BRIN
conducted a preliminary selection, and as a result, 15 teams from nine
universities are qualified for the final on-site competition.
