On September 25, 2025, on the sidelines of the World Atomic Week international forum, Rosatom Technical Academy and Yangon Technological University (Yangon, Republic of the Union of Myanmar) signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of nuclear science, technology, research and personnel training.
The strategic partnership agreement was signed by Yuri Seleznev, Rector of Rosatom Technical Academy, and Hla Moe Tun, Head of Yangon Technological University.
The agreement provides for the development of joint educational programs, the exchange of curricula and teaching materials, as well as joint research into promising nuclear installations and participation in international projects.
“A country developing nuclear energy needs specialists first and foremost. In order to establish and develop nuclear education, alongside training students at Russian universities, it is necessary to develop our own programs in the field of nuclear education. The signed memorandum lays the foundation for systematic work on training Myanmar’s national workforce. We are ready to share with Yangon Technological University not only educational methods but also Rosatom’s practical experience in implementing large-scale nuclear projects. This cooperation will enable the creation of a sustainable educational ecosystem that will train specialists for the safe and efficient operation of Myanmar’s nuclear power facilities, thereby contributing to the country’s socio-economic development and strengthening bilateral relations between our states,” said Yuri Seleznev.
