Last week, Rosatom issued a response to a newswire inquiry concerning on-going political developments in Bolivia. In the agency’s article that ensued our statement was misinterpreted, edited and misleadingly worded in a manner that does not reflect our position on the matter.
The following is the complete statement we originally submitted to the news agency:
“We view our cooperation with Bolivia as a long-term partnership that will bring tangible benefits to the country’s economy and local communities. The preparation and launch of lithium projects will generate tax revenues at different levels of Bolivia’s budget, foster the expansion of transport and energy infrastructure, stimulate the growth of related businesses, support the training of national specialists, and promote the tourism potential of the nature and culture of the Bolivian Altiplano. Ultimately, this will contribute to improving the quality of life for local residents. We are ready to continue constructive cooperation and remain committed to the successful implementation of the project on mutually beneficial terms”.
