Representatives of Rosatom State Corporation took part in the World Nuclear Association (WNA) Symposium, which ended on September 5 in London, United Kingdom.
The event, which has become one of the largest international platforms
for sharing experience and discussing the future of nuclear energy, was
attended by: Andrey Rozhdestvin, Director General of Rosatom Energy Projects,
Polina Lion, Chief
Sustainability Officer at Rosatom, and Ivan Dybov, Director of the Regional
Center for Latin America, Rosatom.
Andrey Rozhdestvin delivered a presentation on “Building
Nuclear Futures: Progress and Innovation Across National and Global Projects”. His
address included an overview of national and international nuclear power plant
construction projects and emphasized the importance of innovative programs in
the nuclear fuel cycle.“Rosatom is consistently expanding the role of nuclear energy and making
a significant contribution to achieving climate goals both in Russia and abroad
by offering comprehensive nuclear power solutions. Thanks to the continuous
development of innovative technologies, Rosatom provides international partners
with advanced solutions across all segments of the nuclear fuel cycle,” he
noted.
Polina Lion took part in the session “Energizing action,” which
focused on new initiatives, innovations, and strategic steps toward the
sustainable development of nuclear power.“Rosatom build NPPs in countries with very different macroeconomic
situation and different culture - Russia, Turkiye, Egypt, Bangladesh, Hungary
and others. What is similar – all these countries have a big request for
reliable and sustainable source of energy, for nuclear energy. We see how our
nuclear projects change people’s lives for better. And that is our real
inspiration to move forward,” she said.
Ivan Dybov spoke at the session “Nuclear-Supplied Power: Applications Around the World.” He shared Rosatom’s experience in promoting multipurpose solutions for the peaceful use of nuclear energy in international markets, particularly in Latin American countries.
The World Nuclear Association (WNA) is an international organization uniting leading companies of the
nuclear industry and promoting broader public understanding of nuclear
technologies. Established in 2001 (known as the Uranium Institute until 2021),
it is headquartered in London, UK. Over the years, the Association has earned a
reputation as an important platform for international dialogue and the pursuit
of a sustainable energy future. Rosatom traditionally plays an active role in
WNA events.
The WNA Symposium is a global platform that brings together industry
leaders, industrial and commercial companies, and regulatory bodies. Its
meetings foster the advancement of technologies, the exchange of best
practices, and the strengthening of international cooperation in the peaceful
use of nuclear energy. This year’s Symposium was the 50th anniversary edition.
The effective operation of the fuel and energy complex plays a vital role in national economies, ensuring economic stability. Participants in the international nuclear market are expanding production and investing in import-substitution technologies. Rosatom and its enterprises are actively engaged in these efforts, helping to enhance the competitiveness of the nuclear industry.
