The annual scheduled maintenance has been completed at the world's northernmost NPP, the floating nuclear power plant (FNPP in Pevek, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Rosatom’s Electricity division). This was the second such maintenance this year, marking the successful completion of a large-scale maintenance campaign planned for 2025. During the campaign, experts carried out not only scheduled maintenance of essential equipment but also performed a series of unique and sophisticated operations aimed at restoring the service life characteristics of the reactor units. This scheduled maintenance included replacing the final stage of the steam generator internals with new ones.
“Over 100 employees of the FNPP and Atomenergoremont JSC, the contractor company, were involved in this most important for us maintenance campaign. These were their collaborative efforts that made it possible to complete the maintenance 14 day days ahead of the schedule and ensure the highest standards of work,” said Andrey Zaslavsky, Chief Engineer of the FNPP.
