On the margins of the 69th session of the IAEA General Conference, which
is being held from 15 to 19 September in Vienna, the traditional meeting between
Rosatom Director General Mr. Alexey Likhachev, head of the Russian delegation
to the Сonference, and IAEA Director General Mr. Rafael Grossi took place. The
meeting was also attended by Mr. Alexander Trembitsky, Head of Rostekhnadzor,
and Mr. Mikhail Ulyanov, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to
International Organizations in Vienna.
The parties discussed major areas of current and prospective cooperation
between Russia and the IAEA, including in the connection with the relevant
issues of the international agenda. Matters concerning the safety of the Russian
nuclear power plants were also addressed.
As a separate topic, the 80th anniversary of the Russian nuclear industry was discussed.
