On June 7, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024) featured a plenary session titled “Technological Ecosystem of the Future: For the Benefit of Humanity and the Planet.”
Participants included Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom State Corporation, Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Pavel Sorokin, First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey, Laureano Facundo Ortega Murillo, Special Representative of the President of Nicaragua for Cooperation with Russia, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World, and others.
In his speech, Likhachev highlighted the multifaceted nature of the future technological ecosystem, identifying three essential components. “The first is energy, crucial for human existence. Looking ahead a hundred years, we see potential in specific technologies – the new generation of nuclear energy with a closed fuel cycle. The second component is development and evolution, with science, knowledge, and the discovery of new properties of matter being integral to the technological landscape. The third aspect involves moral values and fairness, ensuring equal opportunities for human development worldwide,” he said.
Likhachev stressed that Rosatom’s projects harmoniously integrate these three components, fostering the advancement of technology, knowledge, and human potential.
